In 2023 we will continue to focus on the development of our boys and girls. Our home at Toorak Park will undergo demolition, with a new ground and community facility established. This year, we will utilize both Como Park and Orrong Romanis Reserve for Training, with Council also providing access to TH King Reserve for pre-season activities mid-week. Our home games will be played at both Como Park, and Packer Park.
The PJFC Committee is keen to ensure that our community-focused Friday night activities continue. We are also planning a fundraiser for the Club in May.
As many of you are aware, PJFC believes that children enjoy AFL best when they continue to learn and develop their skills. We have developed a football program that supports players of all abilities and ages. Our Director of Development, Wayne Oswald, together with Girls Football Director Gab Suriano will be supported by Ben Schauder (GM Football Operations) to include the following key activities for kids:
- Pre-season training from mid-January
- Skills training on Wednesday evenings during the season (a must for players who wish to get an extra evening of footy in, and enhance their skills)
- Talent program, also on Wednesdays during the season, for boys and girls in U12-U14 selected for further development
Wayne and the team have also developed a Coach portal which we look forward to providing to our Coaches. It’s designed to provide training, skills, and drills, and just make training a little easier to plan and execute.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to PJFC in 2023.
Ben Apted, PJFC President
